Accurate information is essential to produce a quality mold. After an order is placed our design and project managers will work with you to produce an accurate and efficient mold design utilizing the latest design software and technology.
- Solidworks & Autocad
All new mold projects begin with the creation of a solid model of the finished part and corresponding cavities. Whether starting from existing paper drawings, foam samples, models, or simply a part concept, our design staff has the capability to create accurate tool layouts and can import your supplied data and specifications in a variety of electronic formats.
Utilizing solid modeling to establish mold layouts, detail fit-ups, and to check for interference issues reduces the chance for error and re-work and greatly improves overall mold quality. Details from as obvious as mold plate/press interference issues, to complex ejection and proper cooling water drainage problems can be visualized and corrected at the design stage prior to the actual mold build.
- Surfcam
Once a mold design has been approved, the finalized data is seamlessly passed on to our CNC programming department for preparation of machining instructions. Utilizing a common data model throughout the production process eliminates any chance of interpretation or translation errors, and insures an accurate mold build.
